Day 1

Arrive in Guwahati – Drive to Shillong (100 km)

On arrival at Guwahati airport, our representative will receive you with a placard in your name and assist with the transfer. Begin your journey with a visit to the Kamakhya Temple, one of the most sacred Shakti Peethas in India, located atop Nilachal Hill.

Later, drive through the scenic hills to Shillong, often called the ‘Scotland of the East’. En route, stop at Umiam Lake to admire its tranquil waters. Check-in at your hotel. Overnight stay in Shillong.

Day 2

Shillong Sightseeing

After breakfast, begin your day with a visit to Shillong Peak, the highest point in Meghalaya, offering stunning panoramic views. Continue to Elephant Falls, a picturesque three-tier waterfall surrounded by lush greenery.

Later in the day, visit the Don Bosco Museum, which showcases the rich tribal culture and heritage of North East India. In the evening, stroll through Police Bazaar, the city’s bustling local market. Overnight stay in Shillong.

Day 3

Shillong – Mawlynnong – Dawki – Shillong (170 km round trip)

Today, take a full-day excursion to Mawlynnong, known as the cleanest village in Asia. Walk through the village and enjoy views from the Sky Walk. Explore the nearby Balancing Rock and visit a traditional Khasi bamboo hut.

Proceed to Dawki, where you can enjoy a boat ride on the Umngot River, famous for its crystal-clear waters. If weather permits, the river appears almost transparent, making it a surreal experience. Return to Shillong by evening. Overnight stay at Shillong.

Day 4

Shillong – Cherrapunji (60 km)

After breakfast, drive to Cherrapunji, one of the wettest places on Earth. On arrival, visit Nohkalikai Falls, India’s tallest plunge waterfall, and Seven Sisters Falls, cascading down limestone cliffs.

Later, explore the Mawsmai Caves, a natural limestone cave formation that you can walk through. Stop at Eco Park, which offers panoramic views of the Sylhet Plains of Bangladesh. Check-in at your hotel. Overnight stay in Cherrapunji.

Day 5

Double Decker Root Bridge Trek – Nongriat (Full Day)

After an early breakfast, embark on a guided trek to the iconic Double Decker Living Root Bridge in Nongriat village. The trek includes approximately 3,500 steps down and takes you through forests, hanging bridges, and waterfalls.

You may also continue further to Rainbow Falls if energy and time permit. Return by evening. Overnight stay at Cherrapunji.
Note: This trek requires moderate physical fitness. Alternate local sightseeing can be arranged on request.

Day 6

Cherrapunji – Kaziranga (300 km)

After breakfast, begin your long drive to Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in Assam. The park is home to the world’s largest population of one-horned rhinoceroses, along with elephants, tigers, and swamp deer.

Arrive and check-in to your jungle lodge or resort. Enjoy a relaxed evening amidst nature. Overnight stay in Kaziranga.

Day 7

Kaziranga Safari & Cultural Experience

Start your day with an early morning Jeep Safari in the Central Range of the national park. Keep an eye out for rhinos, wild elephants, and a variety of birdlife.

Later, visit the Kaziranga Orchid and Biodiversity Park, followed by a cultural show of Bihu or Assamese folk dances in the evening (subject to availability). Return to your hotel. Overnight stay in Kaziranga.

Day 8

Kaziranga – Majuli Island (130 km + ferry)

After breakfast, drive to Neemati Ghat near Jorhat and board a local ferry to Majuli Island, the world’s largest river island located on the Brahmaputra River.

On arrival, visit Vaishnavite Satras (monastic centers), such as Auniati and Kamalabari, and interact with monks who have preserved dance, drama, and crafts for centuries. Also visit a Mishing tribal village, known for stilted bamboo houses and weaving. Overnight stay in Majuli.

Day 9

Majuli – Guwahati (330 km)

After breakfast, take the return ferry to the mainland and drive to Guwahati. Upon arrival, check-in at your hotel.

In the evening, enjoy a peaceful sunset cruise on the Brahmaputra River, accompanied by light music and snacks. A lovely way to end your journey. Overnight stay in Guwahati.

Departure from Guwahati
